COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by corona virus which recently found in 2019 and never been identified in human. Indonesia reported the first COVID-19 case on 2nd March 2020 and the numbers keep increasing until now. There’s no medication proven to be effective for the cure of the disease up till now. Therefore, scientists all over the world tried to make vaccine. After vaccinated, once exposed to germs or virus, the body will be ready to exterminate them and prevent the disease from reoccurring. Vulnerable population is the top priority to get vaccine. Started in January 2021, the first group to get COVID-19 vaccination in Indonesia is healthcare workers. The second phase of the program is intended for elderly, comorbid population, and public servants. Vaccine used has been through a series of clinical test, but patient safety is the most important thing. Hence, this community service activity was done. This activity indicates our effort to improve patient safety in vaccination program. We did medical history screening through anamnesis to identify comorbid factors and other chronic diseases to determine one’s eligibility for vaccine. For patients, this information was used as educational material to improve their health. The doctors who were doing interview, were trained collectively by the ministry of health Republic of Indonesia. From 160 people came for vaccinated in 24th-27th March 2021 period, 156 (97,5%) of them met the criteria and can be vaccinated, 88 (55%) people have comorbid or other chronic diseases and hypertension turns out to be the most common chronic disease.ABSTRAK:Penyakit COVID-19 adalah suatu penyakit infeksius yang disebabkan oleh virus corona yang baru ditemukan pada tahun 2019 dan belum pernah diidentifikasi pada manusia.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) defines obesity and overweight as a medical condition characterized by the abnormal accumulation of fat. While body mass index (BMI) is commonly used to measure obesity, it has limitations in accounting for differences in body fat distribution. The aim of this study is to compare the effects of body mass index and waist-to-hip ratio on the likelihood of developing cardiovascular disease. Various search methods, including indexed sources from Google Scholar, were used to access a diverse range of literature published in the last ten years. The review employed deductive and inductive reasoning to compile and extract relevant information. Deductive reasoning was used to establish a theoretical framework and identify concepts related to waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) and cardiovascular disease (CVD). Inductive reasoning was then applied to analyse the literature and draw conclusions based on the accumulated evidence. The study found that waist-to-hip ratio is a valuable indicator of cardiovascular disease risk in people of all ages, regardless of their body mass index. It is particularly useful when other metabolic risk factors such as diabetes, lipoprotein abnormalities, smoking, and hypertension are present. This approach is especially beneficial for identifying patients who may be at risk of cardiovascular disease despite having a normal BMI. Waist-to-hip ratio provides additional insights into central adiposity, which has been linked to various metabolic abnormalities and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
Central obesity has become a public health problem which is currently rapidly increasing throughout the world, including in developing countries like Indonesia. The World Health Organization states that central obesity is a major risk factor for various cardiometabolic diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension. Inter-city bus drivers are high-risk occupations of cardiometabolic disease, this is due to unhealthy lifestyles and work patterns such as high consumption of fatty foods, smoking habits, lack of physical activity, long driving times and irregular sleep patterns. This study aims to determine the prevalence of central obesity based on waist circumference in inter-city bus drivers. This research is a descriptive cross sectional study. Data obtained from measurements of body weight, height and waist circumference, as well as calculation of body mass index (BMI) on 176 subjects obtained through consecutive sampling method. Obesity is said if BMI ≥25 according to WHO criteria for Asia-Pacific and central obesity if waist circumference> 90 cm for men and> 80 cm for women. In this study all subjects were men with an average age of 42.45 10.50 years. Based on the calculation of BMI there are 54.3% of subjects obese. Through measurement of waist circumference there are 50.6% of subjects with central obesity. Providing education is very important so that subjects can make lifestyle changes for the better so as to prevent cardiometabolic disease in inter-city bus drivers.
Increasing the welfare of the community has an impact on lifestyle changes such as low physical activity, high carbohydrate, and low diet. Along with these conditions, the incidence of non-communicable diseases (PTM / Non-Communicable Diseases / NCD) also increases. PTM includes cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, lung disease, and cancer. WHO reports that each year PTM causes 35 million deaths worldwide, and many of these deaths occur in low-to-middle income economies. Obesity is one of the risk factors for PTM. Many residents of Tomang village are known to suffer from diabetes. Based on the above conditions, the Faculty of Medicine intends to carry out anthropometric and biochemical profiles to get a picture of the nutritional status and PTM in Tomang village. The invitation was distributed by cadres from Tomang Urban Village. On the day of implementation, participants registered and then filed out the questionnaire. Furthermore, participants were directed to anthropometric examination and continued with biochemical examination. This dedication activity involved the Tarumanagara University Faculty of Medicine students. From eighty-three residents, only 10.8% of residents had high blood pressure (hypertension), high blood sugar (GDS) (> 200 mg / dL) 4.8%, high cholesterol (> 200 mg / dL) 16 , 9%, and high uric acid (male> 7 mg / dL; female> 6 mg / dL) 25.3%. Based on the calculation of the Body Mass Index (BMI), it was found that more than sixty percent of the population had more nutritional status to fat. Continuous efforts are needed in the form of outreach to continue to increase community awareness and knowledge of PTMABSTRAK:Peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat berdampak terhadap perubahan gaya hidup seperti aktifitas fisik yang rendah, pola makan tinggi energi dan rendah serta.
