O presente trabalho discute de que maneira o corpo da mulher lésbica e gorda é representado socialmente e como o seriado Orange Is The new Black, produzido e distribuído pela streaming Netflix, aborda essa representação. Adotamos como procedimento metodológico a revisão de literatura e o estudo de caso, da perspectiva de Jorge Duarte. Discutimos o conceito de gordofobia e sua relação com os media a partir das pesquisas de Agnes Arruda. Com o suporte de Naomi Wolf, Silvia Federici, Silvana Vilodre Goellner e Tania Navarro Swain, abordamos as relações de gênero e as construções dos padrões estabelecidos pela sociedade heterocisnormativa. Consideramos que, apesar da proposta do seriado analisado ser a de incluir narrativas que propõem demonstrar a diversidade das representações das mulheres, quando observamos a representação do corpo lésbico e gordo, os estereótipos construídos socialmente continuam sendo reproduzidos.
A comunicação do atual governo federal brasileiro faz uso de estratégias de emissão massiva e das tecnologias digitais que proporcionam o compartilhamento em rede. Falas excludentes se tornaram frequentes, sendo emblemática a publicação de um vídeo cujo discurso foi emulado do ministro da propaganda da Alemanha Nazista, Joseph Goebbels. O episódio culminou na demissão do secretário responsável pela pasta que veiculou a mensagem, mas não encerrou o modelo de comunicação utilizado. Apresenta-se uma interpretação de tal estratégia de comunicação à luz da economia dos sinais, conforme Harry Pross. A partir de um estudo de caso, traça-se um prognóstico para a troca de mensagens em seu uso social, alicerçado pela ecologia da comunicação, proposta por Vicente Romano: um contraponto ético em processos comunicacionais, lastreado nas relações sociais celebrantes da diversidade
O Jornalismo tem sido crucial ao oferecer à população brasileira informações apuradas sobre o Coronavírus em um contexto de negação da ciência por parte das autoridades públicas. Apesar disso, não está isento da reprodução de preconceitos, nem na cobertura da pandemia. Este trabalho demonstra a relação entre gordofobia e mídia, de forma geral, e cobertura jornalística de forma específica, uma vez que essa recorre aos estereótipos das pessoas gordas e seus corpos para falar sobre a Covid, o período de quarentena e a busca por uma vacina em suas pautas. Usa-se pesquisa bibliográfica, exploratória, netnográfica e análise de conteúdo, em uma proposta de monitoramento de cobertura jornalística e crítica de mídia com foco em saúde.
Este artigo apresenta estudo sobre o uso de cartazes de protesto como forma de comunicação entre ativistas políticos e ciberativistas. Fundamentado nas teorias da Folkcomunicação, atualizadas no que diz respeito à comunicação nos movimentos sociais e aos meios nele utilizados, e também no que se refere à cultura da convergência, cibercultura e redes sociais na internet, o objetivo é analisar como os grupos se apropriaram, tanto da internet, quanto de um meio simples de comunicação, os cartazes, para transmitir frases de efeito e vozes de comando durante os recentes manifestos contra a corrupção no Brasil.
