DAIRY FARMS AT RIBEIRÃO PRETO REGION -SP, BRAZILABSTRACT: On the activities of dairy farm, the constructions for the animals are basic and of utmost importance in the production process, their designs should be based on technical and economic solutions, which offer extremely efficient and functional conditions. The objectives of this work was to research and study the characteristics of dairy farms located in some towns near Ribeirão Preto and the south of Minas Gerais State and recommend solutions based on the literatures for the execution of dairy projects around Ribeirão Preto region. The study was conducted based on theoretical and in loco observations, considering the following parties of dairy farm: free stall, calves housing, milking room and its annexes (footbath, foot clean and waiting corral). The results obtained of this study appeared that most of the dairy farms were designed without technical and effective economical solutions.KEYWORDS: rural construction, dairy cattle, dairy farm.
This research was conducted aiming to evaluate the thermal behavior of metallic and fiber cement tiles installed in simple and double layers. The experiment was performed on prototypes of roofing in single layers and double-spaced from 1.0 to 5.0 cm. It was used temperature sensors, installed on the inner surface of the roofing and in the center of the model for data collection. Data were analyzed using Skott-Knott test, considering the time of day, and roof type. The results showed that the spacing between tiles has an important influence on temperature gradient inside the prototype, been observed that double-spaced roofs, with 5.0 cm, showed the best results for metallic and fiber cement tiles.
The present study was conducted at the Department of Rural Engineering and the Department of Animal Morphology and Physiology of FCAV/Unesp, Jaboticabal, SP, Brazil. The objective was to verify the influence of roof slope, exposure and roofing material on the internal temperature of reduced models of animal production facilities. For the development of the research, 48 reduced and dissemble models with dimensions 1.00 × 1.00 × 0.50 m were used. The roof was shed-type, and the models faced to the North or South directions, with 24 models for each side of exposure. Ceramic, galvanized-steel and fibro tiles were used to build the roofs. Slopes varied between 20, 30, 40 and 50% for the ceramic tile and 10, 30, 40 and 50% for the other two. Inside the models, temperature readings were performed at every hour, for 12 months. The results were evaluated in a general linear model in a nested 3 × 4 × 2 factorial arrangement, in which the effects of roofing material and exposure were nested on the factor Slope. Means were compared by the Tukey test at 5% of probability. After analyzing the data, we observed that with the increase in the slope and exposure to the South, there was a drop in the internal temperature within the model at the geographic coordinates of Jaboticabal city (SP/Brazil).KEYWORDS: ambience, heat, shed.
