Background and Aim: Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most prevalent types of thyroid cancer. The present study aimed to investigate the clinicopathological features and surgical treatment of thyroid papillary carcinoma in Hashimoto thyroiditis. Patients and Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out on 486 papillary thyroid carcinoma patients in the surgical department of Mardan Medical Complex, Mardan Pakistan from March 2020 to March 2023. All the patients were categorized into two groups: Group-I (papillary thyroid carcinoma with Hashimoto thyroiditis) and Group-II (papillary thyroid carcinoma without Hashimoto thyroiditis). Serum thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), age, central compartment lymph node metastasis (CLNM), gender, nodular size, and invasive status were different clinicopathological factors recorded. SPSS version 27 was used for data analysis. Results: The overall mean age was 42.84±10.8 years. Out of 486 patients, Group-I had 76 (15.6%) patients whereas Group-II had 410 (84.4%) patients. There were 52 (10.7%) male and 434 (89.3%) females. The incidence of final diagnosis of benign thyroid nodule and PTC was 53.9% (n=262) and 46.1% (n=224) respectively. The prevalence of PT in Group-I was significantly higher 56.8% 57.9% (n=44) than in Group-II 43.4% (n=178).
Judaism, Christianity and Islam are three major world religions and are known to be the religions which were given by God to the world through His Prophets. The followers of these three religions are also known as the people of The Book (Ahl-e-Kitab). The Creator, who is called Jehovah by Jews, God by Christians and Allah by Muslims, has a purpose while revealing these religions to the mankind. The major objective is to make human beings better humans and improve their morality so that they may live in peace and harmony and refrain from harming one another. There are many commonalities among these three religions i.e. Judaism, Christianity and Islam. All the three religions were given to the world through prophets who were born in Middle East i.e. Palestine and Arabian Peninsula. Prophet Moses A. S. Prophet Jesus Christ and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) all three came from the family of Abraham A. S. All three Prophets are revered by people of all three religions. Most Prophets mentioned in Torah (the holy book of Jews), The Holy Bible are also mentioned in the Holy Qur’an. That is why the Muslims say that their faith as Muslims is incomplete unless they have faith and reverence for all they prophets of Jews and Christians. There are many commonalities in the Teachings of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Especially the Judaism and Islam are very similar and close to each other. The concepts of good and evil and sin and virtue are also almost the same in all these three religions. The only major difference among these three religions is that Christianity forbids from taking revenge whereas the Judaism and Islam teach their followers that it is better to forgive but if you cannot forgive then take a revenge which should be equal to the harm done to you by the opponent. The major sins are also common among the three religions which are being studied in this dissertation.
Pilonidal sinus is a widespread condition. There have been several surgical methods described for treating the sacrococcygeal pilonidal sinus. The Limberg flap after rhomboid excision is the method that is most frequently utilized. By flattening the natal cleft, a big, well-vascularized flap is used to create a tension-free repair. The best treatment options are said to have a recurrence rate of 0–5% and complication rate during surgery of 0–16%. Aim: This study was held to assess patient characteristics and treatment outcomes for pilonidal sinus patients who had rhomboid excision and reconstruction with Limberg flap in our setting. Methods: Information was collected retrospectively by analyzing the records of patients who were done with rhomboid excision and reconstruction with Limberg flap for sacrococcygeal pilonidal sinus in General Surgery department, Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar during the period from January 2020 to December 2022. Results: The study included 40 patients in total, 34 (85%) men and 6 (15%) women. The mean age was 25.10. (range 18–45 years). The mean stay in hospital was 4.2 days, with 3 to 7-day of range. The primary disease affected 38 out of the 40 individuals, and a recurring disease affected 2 patients.
Objective: Aim of this research to examine renal vessels and their morphologies as well as their clinical consequences during renal surgery. Study Design: Cross-sectional study Place and Duration: Anatomy department of Bacha Khan Medical Complex, Mardan and Multan Medical & Dental College Multan during the period from April 2022 to September 2022. Methods: There were 90 cases of both genders presented in this study. Included patients were aged between 20-80 years. With suspected abdominal diseases, patients were referred for abdominal CECT examinations. In contrast-enhanced MDCT images of the Abdomen, the renal arteries were examined for their normal structure and any abnormalities. SPSS 21.0 was used to analyze complete data. Results: Males were higher in numbers 61 (67.8%) than females. Mean age of the patients was 51.3±8.43 years and mean BMI 22.4±8.42 kg/m2. We found frequency of anatomical variations of the renal vessel in 62 (68.9%) cases. Frequency of variations of the renal artery was 47 (52.2%). Among 47 cases, supplementary renal artery was found in 41 (45.6%) cases. Early bifurcation of renal artery in 15 (16.7%). In 11 patients on the right side, 12 patients on the left side, and 3 individuals on both sides, an earlier branching of the renal artery was found. The right side was more often affected by renal vein variations, with 25 (278%) patients having late renal vein confluence and 6 (6.7%) patients having additional renal veins. Patients with late renal vein confluence (3.3%) and retroaortic vein (3.3%) were seen on the left side. Conclusion: Our findings in this research show renal artery alterations are common. Endovascular, laparoscopic, and urological procedures benefit from morphological examination of the renal vessels. Background: Health care-associated infections (HAI) continue to be a significant global community health issue and a concern to patient safety despite significant progress in infection control strategies. Among the most often reported illnesses acquired in hospitals are surgical site infections (SSI) (HAI). Methods: This prospective observational study was held in the various Surgical departments of Bakhtawar Amin Trust Teaching Hospital Multan and Fauji foundation hospital Peshawar cantt.April, 2022 to September, 2022. The study comprised a total of 400 individuals who underwent clean and clean contaminated procedures. Data on comorbidities, post-operative stay, kind of surgery, length of operation, use of prosthesis, day of SSI event, demographics, and re-suturing were gathered and evaluated. Pus aspirate/swab from patients suspected of having SSI was sent for culture and sensitivity testing. Results: The study covered 400 clean contaminated and clean surgeries. 5 percent of cases developed SSI. There was a correlation between SSI and age group, gender and also depends on the procedure type as emergency or elective. The stay in hospital was prolonged post-operatively (>7 days) in 14 (70%) patients who acquired SSI. 13 (65%) of the patients with SSI had co-morbidities. E.
